Each V.A.M.M. module is based on two mirrored hyperboloid membranes tensioned off of each other, making the departure lounges they house spaces floating between the extremes of land and air, the condition of the passenger before enclosure within the aircraft itself.
Instead of using membrane to create a vast clear-span enclosure within which it typically becomes little more than a functional environmental separator with little specific spatial effect, we have made V.A.M.M. smaller and more encasing so that the membrane both produces and directly organizes space. Through their modularity and verticality, membranes are able to be spread like seeds beneath the expansive monument of the sky itself.
