This illustration was commissioned by San Francisco Magazine for an article on proposed development projects in San Francisco. It represents AAA’s vision for the Transbay Tower & Transit Center from before the design of the current Salesforce Tower & Transit Center. Our proposal envisions a landmark mixed-use tower that leverages the site’s connectivity and density to create a vibrant vertical community while also creating a dramatic gateway to and from the city. Organizationally, the tower is composed of a vertical “street grid.” The resulting “blocks” contain the building’s various programs while also creating perforated “yards” to allow light and air to pass through the structure.
