AAA Architecture was honored to recently design a home at The Sea Ranch, a unique and visionary community on the Northern California coast. Since its inception, The Sea Ranch has demonstrated how sensitive natural landscapes can be thoughtfully developed—balancing the preservation of the natural landscape with the creation of meaningful places for people to live.
Inspired by the area’s legacy of blending modern design with the simple forms of barns and sheds, we created a simple, resilient home for a couple deeply committed to living lightly on the land. The design is net-zero and incorporates many principles of the Passive House movement, including energy efficiency, natural ventilation, and a compact footprint that minimizes environmental impact.
The project is still wrapping up and professional photography is yet to come. In the meantime, we’re pleased to share a few preview images of this special place.
